Description
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold, silver or platinum dust. The word “Kintsugi” literally translates as “joining with gold”.
It’s the idea that just because something breaks it doesn’t mean it’s the end of the story. And actually, all the imperfections are part of the items story, and are something that should be cherished and celebrated, rather than hidden away.
And if that ain’t a great metaphor for mental health, then I don’t know what is. We explored this concept a bit in this video!
This kintsugi kit has everything you need to get started with the art, and is enough to complete 4 repairs. The box contains:
✨ High grade epoxy 17 ml – Aluminum tubes epoxy glue + hardener
✨ Premium non toxic colour powder (3g)
✨ Craft wood brush
✨ Mixing bamboo sticks
✨ Gloves (latex & powder free)
✨ Recycled palm leaf mixing tray
✨ Illustrated instructions with step by step guide.
✨ Canvas pouch for safely storing your materials
It also has us thinking of our pals in Holding Absence, and especially their song The Angel in the Marble. Stick it on while you’re making your piece of art!
